The Tucson City Parks Department, in partnership with the Green Stormwater Infrastructure program, is working to create a first-of-its-kind park in southern Tucson, utilizing green stormwater infrastructure to reduce flooding and irrigate several large shade trees throughout the 11-acre park. This project may serve as a pilot project for future Tucson Parks projects. As with the projects described above, DAAWN is responsible for the development and deployment of custom-made biological soil amendments (BSAs) to support the growth and maintenance of the park’s turf grass, as well as its shade trees and other landscaping.
