WEST Consultants is supporting Cochise County, Arizona in research, design, scoping, cost estimate development, grant research/writing, construction administration, and monitoring of land management and range improvement practices to restore perennial grasses on 480 acres of former farmland located within the San Pedro River uplands, less than one mile from the river.

Stormwater runoff accumulates and transports pollutant E. coli laden sediment loads to the San Pedro River from and through the project area and causes localized flooding of roads and properties during large rainfall events. The range improvement practices being researched and developed for the County by WEST, will be selected based on their capacity to capture, cleanse, and infiltrate excess stormwater runoff.
