Through WEST, DAAWN is assisting the New Mexico Department of Transportation with their On-Call Dust Mitigation project, located in the Lordsburg Playa area along Interstate 10. This area is prone to severe dust storms, causing road closures, vehicular accidents, and numerous fatalities. DAAWN is responsible for developing custom-made biological soil amendments (BSAs) to assist the project team with soil health promotion and ecological restoration. DAAWN is also responsible for the deployment of BSAs through various implements, including an agricultural spreader, a BSA liquids sprayer, hand injector, and a keyline plow with a BSA liquids attachment.
